Hello world! (That's a programmer humor in case you didn't catch it.)
With the launch of our app coming up, my colleagues and I wanted to find a way to connect on a more personal level. So we are blogging! I will manage the overall website but all of the founders will contribute to this blog and share our stories about everything from our work to how we got started on this project. We want this blog to be a place where we can tell you our story about why we do the things we do. Everyone at Fluttr agrees that every decision we make should be connected to our mission.
We want to inspire people to travel more.
All of the founders joined this project because we see a value in traveling. As I was honored to write the first post on this blog, let me tell you briefly what I appreciate about traveling.
Like many people, I travel for different reasons such as leisure, family and business. However, the thing that I appreciate the most about it stays the same no matter where I go. It reminds me that there is a bigger world out there. It sounds simple. It sounds like a cliche but maybe it is a cliche for a good reason. I like that traveling makes me modest. Frankly, I think that modesty is a quality that is forgotten too easily. I am probably guilty of it as well. It is hard to see the greater world when I can barely see past the piles of documents I need to read and edit every day.
As Flaubert put it, "Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world."
I am only one of the co-founders and this is only one of the things that we hope to share through our service. We value our users and their experience when they use our service. We have designed every element of the application with our users in mind and we hope that this commitment is felt by everyone who uses our service.
