Decided to spin @JordanHamilton 's card a little differently and instead write from the perspective of my Future Self, talking to myself now.
Alright, I'll make this brief because I know you're busy, and you're probably exhausted.

Hey There Old Friend,

I know that some days you get up and hate the sun for shining in your hostile little face, and you blame the world and your circumstances for things you can't control, but that ball of life and death is about to hand you a gift.
In the future, all of that becomes irrelevant. I'm not going to reveal any details to you for your own good, so you can enjoy the journey...take the ride...whatever.
You've never been one to hold on to things, and people have always been secondary to your ambition. I want you to know that your appreciation for those around you will increase, you'll grow into your humanity and create something long-lasting for yourself.
The immortality you long for is just around the corner, you just have to keep working.
Nothing in life is certain or free...that you already know, but just make sure that you stick to your guns. If you do, there will be great rewards ahead of you.
I know it's hard to look into the sun without burning your eyes, but somehow you do that.
I'll let you know that your writing has changed lives. It's opened perspectives, made a movement happen. Just like you wanted. Your words will transcend anything you thought possible, people will connect with you. And your willingness to compete in the market has given you a breadth of freedom like nothing else.
Your words have saved lives. They've fueled revolutions, inspired a new batch of righteous and venom-filled female journalists. You still make music, and even that's taking off.
All of your dreams will come true if you let them. Do not let the fear and loathing hold you back. Keep on the path to recovery. Embrace it, and work through it...expose your soul for everyone else...they will follow.
I can't say that you're truly happy or satisfied though, your heart still longs for something it cannot name and you'll always be a bit of a loner. Your guts won't change, even though life will.
Have faith in that. Your courage of conviction and your willingness to leap off of the highest cliffs without any safety net will serve you.
Remember that in order to fly, you've got to fall.
Please don't get injured or do something stupid in the years we don't see each other, I know you're a reckless moron sometimes. The future is bulletproof, and it's coming, so get used to it. Never sacrifice the ridiculous amount of ambition and tenacity that you've got in your weird little heart. Trust the Gonzo. Jump off the cliff, you'll thank me.
I'll give you my regards when you deserve them,
Keep Searching.
Your Future Self,

Thank you @jordanhamilton for the prompt

def takes courage and guts!
@jordanhamilton oh wow, thank you :) I think it's seriously valuable to reflect, and to do so in a public way is completely vulnerable and awesome. It takes courage!
Ahhhh! Love this! and if you didn't know, your card last week was the inspiration for my card this week. this was amazing and def spoke to me. I love the fact that you were positive, but still noted that you aren't completely as of yet. you were being realistic and i think a lot of times, we don't do that. so I commend you for that. it happens. this def stood out to me and I love it so much "I know it's hard to look into the sun without burning your eyes, but somehow you do that." thanks for participating! this was great :)
@BPF1916 absolutely. Keep on the path of honesty and improvement!
@TessStevens the more you accept the dark things in your life, the more you accept your self I think! at least this is what happens to me. I guess we sometimes get so revolted with life that we start making an wrong analysis about our self's, pointing our great failures and predicting we would never get it right, or getting angry about things we wanted to do but we didn't... So I guess if you accept that nothing goes only right for you, and that you'll always face problems, you'll be able to make better decisions for your self and have a healthier relation with who you are!
