Winter is coming for at least 8 seasons, according to the president of HBO. Good thing, because as a fan who watches the show, but doesn't read the books, I really had no idea when the series would be coming to an end.
I like having a little stability in my life, and with my career and relationships totally up in the air, it's nice to know that my favorite violent drama will stick around for a while.
Michael Lombardo, president of HBO, discussed the future of the series yesterday at the Television Critics Association panel.

"GOT fans may dislike any talk of the show's ending, but there is a silver lining in the form of a possible prequel or other spin-off."

Woohoooooo!!!! So we've got at least two more years of the show itself, then the possibility of a spin-off to look forward to.
Naturally reporters wouldn't let Lombardo get away without asking him about Jon Snow's death.

"He be dead. Yes. From everything I’ve seen, heard, read, Jon Snow is indeed dead."

Hmmmm, I guess he's a reliable source, but I'm still not sure I believe Jon Snow's really dead. We'll see when season six airs in the spring.
