DIY lace insert (no sew)
Want a creative way to amp up a classic t-shirt? This tutorial is a great way to do that. And the best part about it is that this project doesn't require any sewing! This project comes from the creative people at Mr. Kate.

Materials

For this project, you will need a t-shirt, lace, scissors, an iron, a stencil (for whichever shape you want to cut into the shirt) and stitch-witchery (iron-on hem tape that you can find at a craft store.

Draw the shape

Turn your t-shirt inside out. Place the stencil where you want the lace insert to be and trace around the outside of the stencil. Then cut out the shape.

Prepare the lace

Cut out a rectangle of lace that covers the entire cut-out. Then prepare the iron-on hem tape.

Iron-on the hem tape

Use an iron to iron on the hem tape according to the directions on the package of the iron-on hem tape. Make sure to be careful with the iron.

Voila! You now have a unique twist on a classic t-shirt!
