I recently wrote about bike cafes and their new trend in the cafe world, but left out what might actually be great on their menu: Coffee Protein Shakes. These coffee-flavored treats seem like the perfect recipe for a good morning. And now you can make them at home.
Check out a few recipes I found for different preferences-- you can go the uber-healthy route, the easy route, or try the not-so-heathy but yummy option.
The Oh-So-Healthy Coffee Protein Shake
1/4 cup cold brew coffee concentrate
1 cup maple water
(This is a fun ingredient. Check it out here. You can also substitute with Coconut water)
1 tsp maca powder
2 tablespoons chia seeds
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup cashews
1 cup ice
What to do:
Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender and enjoy!
The Simple Shake
Large unsweetened iced coffee
30g whey protein
What to do:
Pour the iced coffee, ice cubes too, into a shaker bottle.
Add the protein powder and shake it up.
Pour the mixture back into the original iced-coffee cup and sip at your leisure.
The Treat-Yo-Self Morning Shake
1-1/2 cups low-fat milk
2 scoops vanilla protein
1/2 cup low-fat, coffee flavored ice cream (You deserve it!)
What do to:
Add all ingredients into a blender, mix until preferred texture
