Or at least, polite enough for the Victorians

It must have been an exciting challenge for Moffat and the rest of the BBC team to adapt Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original stories to a modern setting. Now that the characters have taken on a life of their own, the series is giving us a Christmas special set in the original Victorian period. Moffat had a few comments about how the characters will be different in the special:
"[Sherlock] is a lot less brattish when he's back then. And Dr. Watson is a bit more upright. They're the same people, seen through the prism of a different time and fitting in to a different society. I would say this Sherlock is a little more polished, and he operates like a Victorian gentleman instead of a posh, rude man, which he does in the modern too."
This only makes me more impatient! Especially since it sounds like this episode will wrap up Moriarty's arc. And there are rumors that the special will It's going to be a little odd seeing the actors playing characters we know in a completely different context.

This all sounds really cool.

But there's been so little information about the special, just a short trailer. There were a lot of mixed feelings after Season 3. Will doing something so dramatically different from what fans are used to restore our faith?

Totally @shannonl5! I’m also a big fan of period dramas...so it’s going to be really fun to see this place out with Sherlock included.
