Music is amazing. It's something that brings people together better than anything There's something of a unifying force with music. Most people find something they love in music- the beat, the rhythm, the lyrics, etc.
So when music, good music, comes from unexpected places, it's made that much better for the serendipity of it all.

Ember McLain - Remember (Danny Phantom)

For those who don't remember, or who might be the wrong generation for it, Danny Phantom was a kid's program on Nickelodeon back in the early 2000s. A cartoon about a teenage boy who is suddenly granted the powers and abilities of a ghost, he swears to protect his hometown from the ghostly enemies who seek to do harm there.
One of the villains he faced was an Avril Lavigne-esque musician named Ember McLain, or just Ember. She had the gem of a song, in just a single episode. The song resonated with fans, though, and has been uploaded in ful lto youtube. Do yourself a favor and listen.

Chip Skylark - My Shiny Teeth and Me (The Fairly Odd Parents)

Another Nickelodeon song here. The Fairly Odd Parents was a show about a kid who was neglected by his parents, prompting magical fairy god parents to show up, willing to grant (most) every one of his wishes.
Within the realm of the show was a pop star named Chip Skylark, made famous for his shiny, shiny teeth. He was so recognized for them that he made a song. And that song rocks.

The Beets - Killer Tofu (Doug)

Doug was a show back in the day about a boy and his regular life. He had a beatnik for a sister, a best friend named Skeeter, and a crush on a girl named Patty Mayonnaise. Oh, and a dog named Pork Chop. Can't forget that.
The most popular band in Doug's life were The Beets, with their hit single Killer Tofu. That song has really stuck with people through the years, and it's easy to see why. It's just killer.

Stinky Whizzleteets - Happy Happy Joy Joy (Ren & Stimpy)

Ren and Stimpy was a... weird cartoon back in the day. A little out there, a little bit above the heads of their target audience. In retrospect, it probably wasn't for kids at all, really.
Regardless, they did come out with this amazing title, a song that will outlast the Katy Perrys and Taylor Swifts of today. It's a happy, joyous song.

Gir - The Doom Song (Invader Zim)

Everything about this show is golden. From the twisted, brilliant mind of Jhonen vasquez, this show proved to be maybe a little too avant-garde for Nickelodeon's programming and it was (unjustly) cancelled.
In it's short run, though, it brought with it some of the most iconic characters in all of cartoons, not the least of which was Gir, and he in turn brought us this magnum opus of a serenade, and it will last in the hallowed halls of awesome cartoon musics.
@onesmile that's one of my favorite scenes from all of cartoons! and especially from Hey Arnold! If I'd remembered I totally would've put it on the list.
ok so this isn't exactly a piece of lyrical genius, but when I think of music from a cartoon, this is often what comes to mind first. mostly for the scene itself ha
Memories man
I love all of these! I feel like these were all from Nickelodeon right? CN had a couple of really good musical episodes as well
@laurafisher you're welcome! @allischaaff it's the key to a joyous existence
