Growing up, my mom used to make pepper steak fairly often. It's made with strips of tender steak, and bell peppers. Today's Green Peppers Day, so we're going to eat good celebrating this awesome holiday. It's very easy to make, and it goes very well with white or yellow rice. It's also a great meal to have if you're looking to get your vegetables and protein in, for very cheap.
What You'll Need:
Flank steak (cut into strips)
1 Green bell pepper (cut into strips)
1 Red bell peppers (cut into strips)
2 tablespoons of Sofrito (or buy it premade)
1 pack of sazon
8 oz Tomato sauce
How To Make It:
2) Heat olive oil to high heat. Cook steaks for about 2 minutes on each side.
3) Reduce to medium-high heat. Add onions, green & red peppers, sofrito, sazon. Saute for 5 minutes.
4) Add tomato sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring sauce to boil.
6) Reduce heat to simmer. Let simmer for 30 minutes.
