When they broke up, it broke your heart just as much -- if not more.
I'm talking about celebrity couples we all fell in love with in the early 2000s. We lived vicariously through them and since social media was nonexistent -- back then we had to dig to get any information on what was going on in their relationship. How nosy were we? We constantly complain about tabloids, but we were a walking tabloid. Whatever they were doing we needed to know and the urgency was beyond real.
Breaking up is hard to do, but it's bound to happen at some point or another -- unless you happen to be Bey and Jay. We didn't see it coming, but it came and it hurt. The heartache of knowing that some of your favorite couples are no longer couples. At an age when you haven't even had your first relationship -- they gave you hope, or at least they did. These celebrity couples from the early 2000s made our lives all the more enjoyable and this is why we want them back together.
Puff Daddy and J.Lo
At the time he was still known as Puff Daddy. There relationship was fresh and fabulous. If you saw Puff, you were bound to see J.Lo. If you thought Beyonce and Jay were the modern day Bonnie and Clyde -- think again because Puff and J.Lo held that title after being charged for gun possession (J.Lo's charges were later dropped).
Britney and Justin
They were that kind of inseparable Natalie Cole sang about. From the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse days to their prime in music -- we had faith in these two. They were destined to be together and create little Brit's and Justin's. What other couple can wear matching denim outfits to an award show and not feel the least bit awkward? Unfortunately, it seemed like it was a "first love" kind of situation.
Chilli and Usher
He had it bad for Chilli. The TLC member and the man with sick dance moves had us thinking that love was real. When you write songs specifically for that one person, you know it's real. There's still so much potential, being that Chilli is single and Usher is recently divorced. I smell a reunion in the future -- smells like love.
Nivea and Lil Wayne
These two probably wouldn't be on most peoples list of couples we want back together, but I was rooting for them. Way back when Wayne seemed normal. Before Lauren London, Christina Milian and all the other woman Wayne knocked up -- there was Nivea. Nivea and Wayne were in love and it wasn't a secret. Once Lil Wayne left the Hot Boyz, he needed himself a hot girl and that's where Nivea came in.
Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson
Her blonde hair and brown eyes with his brown hair and blue eyes. Talk about perfect. Back when life was carefree and you used to sit around watching Nick and Jessica's reality show thinking someday that could be you. They were so cute together and their personalities were the perfect mix that created the perfect balance.
