Another day, another dollar.
Another day, another quality - no, dominant - start from a Mets starter.
Harvey went 7 innings, throwing just 88 pitches. He struck out 6 and walked none.
He had a four run lead by the 3rd inning; this was not exactly high-difficulty pitching. Harvey cruised all night, running into essentially no trouble all night. Sure, when the Mets are looking at innings counts come the end of the season, this will show up as 7 innings pitched for Harvey. But the reality is that he was not stressed. It's not hurting his arm to throw 7 innings like that.
ESPN's Jayson Stark wrote yesterday about how the Mets' rotation is the best in the league - and it's not even close. It's a really good piece, and it gets me even more excited about this team than I have been, which is quite the accomplishment. Check it out. He uses facts, and stuff.

Another day, another contribution from a new Met.
Well, several new Mets, really.
Juan Uribe slugged a deep, deep three-run homer to put the Mets up 7-0. This one was a moon shot. I love Uribe - the guy swings the bat as hard as he can each and every time he goes to the plate. When he connects like he did last night, it's easy to see why he's had so much success in this league. He is a very strong man. I would not like to make him angry.
