Get Black on Black Style Inspiration from the Fall 2015 Runways

The fall 2015 runway season (which is now becoming relevant as fall fast approaches) was full of black on black monochrome looks, which ranged from edgy to romantic and everything in between. Here are my favorite monochrome black looks from the season, to provide style inspiration for the coming months!

Alexander Wang

Alexander Wang delivered just what we'd expect, and exactly what we want to look like a tough girl this fall. Heavy masculine shapes, even in the form of maxi dresses, and plenty of hardware detail, make black on the badass look we aim for.

Tom Ford

As per usual, Tom Ford killed the sexy womenswear game, with long dresses with plunging necklines and cutouts. The accessorizing made his black-on-black looks more intricate and bohemian, heavy boots to keep the looks strong.

Alexander McQueen

With the McQueen fall 2015 collection, Sarah Burton succeeded in creating something dark, moody, sexy, and romantic, all in one. The revealed midriff comes in unexpected peeks and holes, creating layers of black we can only hope to pull off.

Rick Owens

The models at Rick Owens' show may have looked beyond spooky, but the dramatic shapes and draped knits and leather are perfect for making a dark statement come fall, especially worn as seperates.

Yohji Yamamoto

The quirky Japanese designer delivered androgyny and wit in a slew of vaudeville-inspired modest black ensembles. The draped pieces hung dramatically, but the models carried off the dark looks with a quirky sort of grace.

Giorgio Armani

Armani's collection this fall wasn't all monochrome black. His stong and simple statement jackets and pants looked best in dark colors, and the black ensembles were striking and chic, without being too masculine or too feminine.

"B*tch I'm Madonna"
"Who do YOU think you are!?" Madonna is back with another provocative song but this time she's going after Taylor Swift. The 56-year-old legend is pulling all the stops creating her own 'Bad Blood' type of video. She's recruited the top names in the industry : Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora, Chris Rock, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Alexander Wang, Diplo, David Banda, and Kanye to make cameos in the video. Minaj saves the song a bit with her incredible rap. Anyways, that's quite the line up. Better than Taylor Swift's? Here's the cameos... This was the Instagram pic that caused an uproar on social media pointing fingers at Madonna saying she copied Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood'. However, imitation is the nicest form of flattery. But really though... It's exactly the same. Pathetic. Here's some more publicity pictures Madonna posted to hype the music video up. The music video debuted on a music sharing service called Tidal. Tidal had a 24 hour advantage as it was the only music service to have the music video posted. Today, VEVO gained the rights to the music video so now most of the public can see the video without having to subscribe and pay for the service. More BAD BLOOD? Here's the music video. Slightly catchy once you listen to it for a few minutes. Overall though it was a crappy attempt to rip on Tswift and it was a bizarre video. Madonna is now too old to be a pop star but she's holding on for dear life. Kinda sad. I guess she's still young at heart. I wonder if Madonna will do well with this song...
Famous Faces Telling You To DO SOMETHING
This capitalizes on success. Alexander Wang, one of the most famous fashion designers in the world, is finally celebrating his 10th year of astronomical success. Every celebrity on the planet is desperate to wear his masterpieces and with each and every piece of clothing he creates, he promotes the art of high end fashion. To celebrate his 10 years, he has taken on an impressive collaboration with the DoSomething organization recruiting A-list celebrities from all over the world. American royalty aka Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were the first to jump on the project. Kim took on a very typical dress that hugs her curves in all the right places while Kanye took his tradition sweatshirt and baggy jeans look. Each celebrity has their own style and pose that has a slight suggestion of sexiness. This is a wonderful organization to support and it's been a wonderful experience for the celebrities to give back. The target audience is teenagers and fellow young people to help a cause on their own which is something really special. I love this campaign already! Wang, now 31-years-old, has finally grown into his style after years of trial and error. "I went through many different phases as a kid," Wang recently shared with Paper magazine. "I was a raver. I was hip-hop... And I went to boarding school for a while, where my look was a weird hybrid of preppy meets grunge: layered polo shirts with lots of ripped jeans." Today, Wang's designs emulate ultimate opulence and class. They are elegant with just the right amount of awe inspired customization depending on the celebrity. A-listers have been vying to wear Wang at the top red carpet events for the last decade and his success is set to grow even farther. Unlike many other designers in the fashion world, it seems Wang genuinely tries to form long lasting friendships with his clients which is one reason why wearing his designs makes it that much more desirable. So what is DoSomething.org? Taken from their website : "DoSomething.org makes the world suck less. One of the largest global orgs for young people and social change, our 4 million members tackle campaigns that impact every cause, from poverty to violence to the environment to literally everything else. Any cause, anytime, anywhere. *mic drop" Wanna help out? Go here : https://www.dosomething.org/about/who-we-are Do you think it's necessary for charities to pair up with famous celebrities?
