So here are the three draft classes widely considered to be the best classes of all time.
The first is the 1984 class, that produced the legend himself, Michael Jordan, as well Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, and 7 other All-stars. There were notable busts, like Sam Bowie selected at no. 2, but which class doesn't have at least one of these? (see Darko Milicic)
Next up is the 1996 class, which featured three NBA MVP players (Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Steve Nash) and 8 other All-Stars (Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Ray Allen, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Stephon Marbury, Jermaine O'Neal, Peja Stojakovic, Antoine Walker, and Ben Wallace). In terms of sheer quantity of all-star caliber players, the 1996 class has the edge above every other class.
Finally, but certainly not the least, is the 2003 draft class, which includes LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, David West, Josh Howard, and Mo Williams. Along with these All-Stars, this class has also produced winners of other awards, including Leandro Barbosa (6th Man Award), Jason Kapono and James Jones (winners of 3-point shooting contest).
