Talk about a tattoo with a story! Roger Fraser, a 37-year-old father from Tennessee, recently got a tattoo dedicated to British boy band One Direction in a failed attempt to win his daughter VIP tickets to their current tour.
Indiana radio station 99.5 WZPL was calling for dads to dress up like members of the boy band for a chance to win, and Roger felt that stepping his game up with something as bold as a permanent 1D tattoo would make him the surefire winner.
But then he was disqualified.
(Cue the George Costanza golf clap.)
According to the giveaway's very evil fine print, Roger had to be a permanent resident of Indiana when he and his daughter were, of course, from Tennessee.
But don't lose hope! Roger and his daughter Mikayla, 14, were still able to go to the One Direction concert. (Even if they still had to pay out of pocket.)
"We didn't get to meet One Direction. We didn't go on stage or get front row," Roger admits. "But the reward has been all the memories that we've made."
As for DAT TATTOO? Roger prefers to look on the bright side of things.
"I got involved with something that they love. And it's brought us together even closer than we ever were."
Bets to how long it will take for him to make that first laser removal appointment start now.
Aw dad. Awwwwww dad.
Oh. my. god. Now that's fatherly love. Actually, it might be something kind of worse than fatherly love... I would never want my dad to get a tattoo of a band I like. NEVER.
Hahaha, whatever happened to Hansen? !
@marshalledgar Totally. I keep imagining my dad covered in Hanson tattoos and my heart feels for him hahaha. This guy is brave.
