Hi, everyone! I did this before but decided to redo this in order to give a clearer picture of how I got hooked on anime. It started with Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Back then, it was called Warriors of the Wind and wasn't nearly as good as the re-release.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe. This was my favorite TV show! There was a vehicle team as well, but the lions are my preference. :3
Fist of the North Star. Now, this anime is very brutal and violent. So many memorable characters here besides Ken.
What can I say about Akira? Truly a milestone in anime. The tragic story of Tetsuo being bullied when he was a boy, gaining superhuman powers as a teen and declaring war on the entire world makes this one of my faves.
Ah, Neon Genesis Evangelion. I honestly related with Shinji's internal struggles as he tried his very best to please his father over and over. A great combination of excellent science fiction, teen angst and the comedic love triangle that included Shinji, Rei and Asuka.
This is my all time favorite right here. Ghost In The Shell. The 1995 movie did alter Major Motoko Kusanagi's physical appearance but that did not affect how intelligent and visually stunning it is. Of course, I also love Stand Alone Complex. That's it! Thanks to @poojas for coming up with this idea! ^_^

I did watch Satoshi's Paprika, @shannonl5, and loved it! Movies about dreams are really fascinating! I also loved Perfect Blue although I do need to watch it again. Yup. That's how I got into anime. I forgot to include Robotech and Star Blazers. OMG...Star Blazers looks so dated when you try to watch it now. LOL!!!
Oh, yeah, @buddyesd, Robotech!!! Have you seen Macross: Do You Remember Love? It's a film adaptation of the series with new animation. I haven't but I'd love to check it out.
@poojas It's best to start with Neon Genesis first, then End of Evangelion before watching Evangelion 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 which is basically a reboot of the franchise. ^_^
Oh and @BPF1916 was also wondering about Evangelion!
oh man, Voltron sure brings the memories back. the good ol days.
