Mos Def Makes Battle Rap Challenge, Lupe Fiasco Accepts
Mos Def watched the Meek Mill vs. Drake beef and was unimpressed with the quality of content released during the battle.
Last week, Mos Def uploaded a short clip to Youtube in which he issued a call-out to any and all challengers.
"I'm tired of these dudes pretending like they dope," he says while perusing a lapful of sunglasses. "You aight, but relax. The dope niggas that think that they dope, you ain't as dope as you think. You cool...We don't have to make no back-and-forth corny records about it, we could put it on its feet for the world to see."
In regards to his crew, Mos Def tapped Black Thought and King Los stating "and that goes for everybody, I don't care who you tell."
Lupe Fiasco quickly hopped into action, accepting the challenge on Instagram and offering up Mickey Factz as a potential opponent for King Los.
“If Mos wanna battle, he can get a whiff of the wrath.” said Lupe. “And I’m behind all of these bars, don’t need to tap Miller for some Genuine Drafts.”
After Lupe accepted the challenge, Mos Def backed out of the battle. His reason behind deciding against the battle rap was simple: It won’t be fun.
“Man I gotta spend all day inside writing battle raps for this? For what? I would rather be filing paperwork at the post office than doing that.”
Damn Mos, I thought we were going to see an epic battle. For arguments sake, who would take between Mos Def and Lupe Fiasco?
