Standard breakfast cereal favorite General Mills will have beer fans drinking like a champion with their new Wheaties-inspired brew.
HefeWheaties is the result of a partnership between General Mills and Fulton Brewery, two of the most prominent businesses based in Minneapolis.
Says Fulton co-founder Ryan Petz:

"We were intrigued from the get-go on this idea for many reasons, including that we're both Minneapolis companies, and that the beer and the cereal both started from the same place in terms of raw ingredients and the same city."

Talk about some Minnesota-style hometown pride!
Hefewheaties is a Hefeweizen style beer, made with over 50% malted wheat - which is why the name is just a little too perfect. It will be available for a limited time in the Twin Cities area.
No word as to whether or not famous athletes will be featured on the can in similar Wheaties' box fashion. But if they are, I hope they start with these enthusiastic Slovakian cyclists:
