Canvas Made of Plastic
Types, Counts, Weights, and More for Plastic Canvas
Plastic canvas, like embroidered canvas, is a lightweight plastic craft material with a grid of holes (Aida cloth). Vinyl weave, vinyl Aida, and plastic canvas mesh are some of the other names for it. To allow different thicknesses of yarn, plastic canvas is available with varying sized holes (determined by the count given on the box). Plastic canvas comes in a variety of colours (though white and transparent are the most popular), as well as forms including circles, ovals, hearts, stars, squares, crosses, and rectangles.
Ultra-stiff plastic canvas is excellent for applications that require a little more sturdiness, such as boxes or coasters. Use an ultra-stiff plastic canvas for any tasks that need to stay flat.
For projects that will be twisted or curved, supersoft plastic canvas is ideal. They can be moulded more readily and maintain a curvature better than the Ultra-stiff type.
