"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it," 1 Corinthians 10:13. Temptation is something that we all go through, there's no running or hiding from it. Facing it is your only option, and we have a very merciful God that can help us. Like I've said before, I am a 22 year old youth leader, and for a long time of my life I was a hypocrite. I fell so easily into temptation, and put God to the side. There were 2 things that I loved to do when I was a hypocrite, and that was party and sex. I loved drinking and having a "good time." It was my thing to do, right after a service of praising and worshiping God I would go off and party. Trying to quit cold turkey from everything is a hard thing to do, but not impossible. I went to a youth camp for a weekend, and it was my first time going as youth leader. I was so focused on having the youth receive something from God that I didn't expect him to give me something. That Friday night God broke me down and showed me what I was missing in all my years of hypocrisy. God showed me what kind of life I could have with him if I would just let him fix me. Temptation is everywhere and now that I have let God change my life and let him control EVERYTHING, i'm free. Free of temptation, of chains that bound me and held me back. But facing temptation is hard unless you have God by your side. Each and everyone one of us has the power to say no. To say no to conforming to this world. I'ts time to rise up and show the Devil that this generation of youth is not lost, but completely found in God.
